Motherly Vampire

Edit 5-30-14: I reworked this piece so I can experiment with it because, why not?

As I like to do I have hid a bunch of cats in there. Good luck finding them!

The name of this piece comes from that purple bulge. I got the idea from my cat, who has an umbilical hernia. It looks like a bulge that sticks out of her stomach and the other cats just love that thing and try to suckle on it. She takes on a motherly role and cleans them when they suckle on it. How can I not incorporate that into my art?

Comments and feedback welcome! :)

Straight from the sketchbook, but with a twist. This piece is filled with wonderful aspects and angles. The curves, and the three separate faces bring a gorgeous light to this piece. At first glance, it looks perfectly symmetrical, but when taking a step back, you notice that the piece is, in fact, not! The tiny details, to the warm and cool colors are intriguing. I love how the motherly vampire persona is guarding the two individuals below her. The girl on the left has a sort of innocent, but mischievous look about her. Where as the girl on the right is more of an open book; grinning wickedly.

I gave you four and a half stars for vision, because I would have liked to see the whole piece with the same painted feel to it.

I gave you five for originality, however, because you mixed a few mediums together. The painted feel of the piece mixed with the flat, but cool colors is eye catching.

You get a four and a half for technique because of how well the symmetry of the piece looks.

And a 5 for impact, because it literally made my jaw go slack.

Nice work! Keep it up!
